THE BENEFITS OF TRAINING ON A STANDARDIZED FLEET.
When searching for a plane rental near me, there are a few important factors to consider to ensure a smooth and cost-effective experience.
First, start by checking the company’s reputation—read reviews, ask other pilots, and confirm that their aircraft are well-maintained with up-to-date avionics.
Second, Choose a fleet that suits your needs, whether you are flying for leisure, training, or long-distance trips. Compare rental rates and check to make sure fuel is included (wet) in the rental rate. Check for any discounts for block hours.
Third, if you plan on renting a plane frequently factor in a good insurance provider like Avemco. Minimum coverages for students who want to complete their solo flight are $10,000 Liability. Don’t worry the yearly cost for student pilot aircraft insurance is around $300 a year.
Fourth, carefully review the rental agreement to understand any restrictions, such as minimum flight hours, geographic limitations, or instructor approvals. If you're renting at a busy airport like Van Nuys (VNY), consider aircraft availability and ease of scheduling.
Before making a final decision, visit the rental facility, inspect the aircraft, and ask about any additional fees.We pride ourselves in having a standardized fleet of Piper Warrior aircraft. This allows for an easy transition from plane to plane. Our aircraft include the following for additional situational awareness:
Touch screen Garmin GPS 375, 355 or 650
Garmin G5
We take pride in maintaining of our fleet of airplanes. Any maintenance is dealt with immediately and efficiently. Safety is our priority.
Pay As You Go
ActivePILOT has a ‘Pay As You Go’ policy, meaning students are not mandated to make any advance payments or deposits before lessons. Students are required to have a valid credit/debit card on file at the sign-up stage and are only charged after the completion of each lesson. Students only pay for the hours they receive instruction and/or use aircraft for training and not the entire scheduled blocks. Scheduling blocks are only set to ensure you have access to the instructor and the airplane you need to complete your lessons for that day.
Acceptable Forms of Payment
Active PILOT accepts Cash, Check, Credit/Debit Card, and Zelle as forms of payment. Additionally, students can use Flight Schedule Pro's online payment system to pay for lessons.
