Converting EASA to FAA pilot License.

Step 1: Make an (FAA) IACRA account

  1. Go to IACRA.com and create an FAA IACRA account.

  2. Start an IACRA application for FOREIGN PILOTS.

  3. Fill out all the information requested by the FAA; Complete the 8710 form.

Step 2: Request verification of (EASA) pilot certificates with (FAA) FSDO.

  1. Go to the nearest Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) and request to verify that you hold EASA pilot certificate.

  2. Remember to submit your application; Then send an email to the Nearest FSDO stating that you have submitted an application for EASA to FAA pilot license conversion/ Foreign Pilots License Conversion.

  3. The FSDO will receive your application. This will start the 60 day verification process.

Step 3: The FAA FSDO will send you a letter verifying your conversion.

  1. Take the verification letter you received from the FAA and go back to the same FSDO. They will convert your EASA license to a FAA Private Pilot license ONLY.

    1. NOTE: It does not matter if you have an EASA ATP with 10,000 hours; the FAA will only convert your foreign license to a FAA Private Pilot License (initially).

  2. Do you want your EASA instrument rating converted to FAA Instrument Rating?

    1. Sign up and take the instrument for foreign pilot written exam.

    2. Sign up with SheppardAir.com to obtain material to study for that test.

    3. Sign up with PSI Testing Center to schedule your instrument for foreign pilot written exam.

  3. Once you complete the instrument for foreign pilot written exam, take the completion certificate to the same FSDO and they will give you a FAA Private Pilot - Instrument license (based on foreign license)

  4. Do you want your EASA Commercial rating converted to FAA Commercial rating?

    1. You must take the commercial for foreign pilot written exam.

    2. Sign up with SheppardAir.com to obtain material to study for that test.

    3. Sign up with PSI Testing Center to schedule your commercial for foreign pilot written exam.

    4. You must take a FAA Commercial Check-ride with an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).

      1. This will convert all of your EASA Licenses to an FAA Commercial License.

Step 4: Complete

  1. Congrats you successfully completed your conversion!
