Becoming A Student Pilot
The first step in your aviation journey is becoming a student pilot. This begins with choosing a flight school and obtaining a student pilot certificate. You must be at least 16 years old and be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. We recommend that you obtain a third-class medical certificate from an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) before you start training! Next goal is completing the
FAA Written Test and working toward your first solo flight.

Obtain Instrument Rating To Fly IFR
Adding an instrument rating to your private pilot licenses is crucial for flying with reduced visibility (in clouds or heavy fog). This type of flying is very strict. When flying solely with reference to your instruments, you must adhere to strict rules and procedures. You will learn how to fly: Departure procedures, SIDs, STARs, and instrument approaches.
This rating increases your instrument flying skills and safety as a pilot.
